House history
Champagne Xavier Loriot presents itself as a family house founded in 1891. The site indicates that since its foundation, it has aimed to impose a contemporary style combining strength of character, technological innovation, and avant-gardism. The family vineyard has seen five generations of independent winemakers succeed each other, from George Jobert in 1891 to Charlène Loriot in 2000. The house has been established for over 120 years on the slopes of the Vallée de la Marne and cultivates 10.5 hectares of vines spread over the villages of Binson-et-Orquigny, Villers-sous-Chatillon, and Reuil.
Tasting experience
The site describes several cuvées and their tasting profiles. Vieilles Vignes Brut, 100% Pinot Noir, is presented as a wine of character. Hypnotic Brut, made from Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir, is described as complex, expressive, and airy. 100S without added sulfites promises a Pinot Noir exalted by spices and a sensual and mentholated Chardonnay, while 100S Extra-Brut highlights authentic aromas and purity. The Millésime is associated with aromas of honeysuckle and exotic fruits, with suppleness and freshness. Insaisissable Brut, 100% Chardonnay, is described as complex, subtle, mineral, and enigmatic. Fragment Brut, composed of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, blends fruity and stewed aromas. The rosé is obtained by natural maceration to bring freshness and red fruit aromas. Rosé Meunier Intégral, based on Pinot Meunier with 12 to 18% vinified in red wine, is presented as contemporary and powerful.
