House history

The house presents a family history dating back to the 18th century in Cumières. In 1765, Joseph Plateau is described as the first generation to acquire vineyards, venture into the wine trade, and found the "Maison Plateau". Eight generations followed. Among the milestones mentioned: Rémy Plateau, the sixth generation, created the first brand "Champagne Rémy Plateau"; his daughter Yvette Plateau married Guy Vadin, who in 1958 renamed the brand "Champagne Vadin-Plateau" and gave it its status as a Récoltant-Manipulant by equipping it with a press. The site indicates that today, nearly 300 years later, Yann has contributed to the family business with an organic vision of viticulture, and then Aurélie took up the torch by blending tradition and modernity. The site also mentions Alphonse Perrin, related to the family, as one of the founders of the Syndicat Général des Vignerons and a key player in the advancement of the Champagne Rémy Plateau brand.
