Champagne Romelot Poupart
Rue Leduc de la Tournelle 4, 02310 Charly-sur-Marne, France
House history
The history of the Romelot family and the vineyard begins in the 18th century, shortly after the French Revolution, when the first generations cultivated the fields and the vine. In the 1930s, Lucien Romelot devoted himself mainly to viticulture on the lands of Charly-sur-Marne and made a name for himself thanks to the quality of his work and his grapes. In the 1950s, his son Henri joined him, and they expanded the estate. In 1973, Jean married Micheline Poupart and decided with her to create their own champagne. The first Romelot-Poupart harvest was bottled in 1974, and then marketing began in 1977. In 2005, their son Fabrice joined the business after his viticulture studies and sought to improve the operation through sustainable viticulture and attention to the environment.
