Champagne Roger-Constant Lemaire
Rue de la Glacière 50, 51700 Cœur-de-la-Vallée, France
House history
The Lemaire family has been cultivating vines in Hautvillers since 1860. In 1945, Roger-Constant founded the house with the idea that each wine should reflect the identity of its terroir. He then developed the estate by acquiring new plots and producing grapes. Brigitte, daughter of Roger-Constant, and Gilles expanded the estate to 12 hectares. From the 2000s, Gilles gave a new direction to the house by eliminating malolactic fermentation, a choice presented as crucial for the identity of the cuvées. Today, the fifth generation, Guillaume and Sébastien Tournant-Lemaire, continues the family adventure.
Tasting experience
The estate offers tours that allow visitors to meet the family, explore the cellars, and discover the house's expertise. Each visit ends with a champagne tasting. One option highlights four cuvées reflecting the soul of the house. Another experience, guided by Guillaume or Sébastien Lemaire, includes a private tour of the estate, the discovery of the cellars, and the tasting of five rare champagnes accompanied by refined dishes. The site also describes an introduction to the house's emblematic styles, including a 100% Meunier, the Cuvée Trianon, the Hautes-Prières, and a Rosé de Saignée.
