Champagne Pascal Picard

Rue de Champfleury 5, 51500 Montbré, France

House history

The house was formerly the hunting lodge of the Pommery house, in the heart of the village of Montbré classified as premier cru, then it was renovated in the tradition. The history of the estate begins in 1952, when Lucien Picard, initially a milkman, decided to become a winemaker and planted his first vines on the family lands of Montbré. He then expanded the vineyard with a plot in Rilly-la-Montagne. After 30 years, he passed on his passion to his sons, who now share the estate. Between 1982 and 1994, Pascal and his brother developed the operation in Essoyes and Chacenay in the Côte des Bar. From 1996, the house began to keep part of the harvest at the wine cooperative of Bar-sur-Seine, a precursor to the birth of its cuvées.
