House history
The House indicates that its history begins in the early 19th century with Edmond, Sandrine's great-grandfather, who cultivates a few acres of vines in Moussy and participates in the creation of the village cooperative. André, Edmond's son, born in 1911, is presented as the first to make a living as a winemaker; he delivers most of his production to the cooperative and begins selling his brand in the mid-1950s. The third generation, Robert and his wife Nicole, gradually develop the marketing, with the first bottles of "Champagne Leguay Charlot" sold in 1976. In 1995, Pascal and Sandrine take over the business, expand the vineyard to 4.40 hectares, create the "Champagne Pascal Lejeune" brand, enrich the range, and adopt sustainable viticulture. Their son Thibaut joins the business in the summer of 2015. The site also mentions that in 2018, the family trio leaves the cooperative to better express their terroir and grapes, in a context of organic conversion across the entire vineyard.
