House history

The estate is a fusion of two family farms, with the origins of the vineyard dating back to the 1760s. The cultivation of vines and the production of Champagne wines have been deeply rooted in the family genome for a very long time. Following various successions, rearrangements, and parcel departures, the cultivated area remains small but varied, with the ability to conduct this vine cultivation in organic viticulture, in the purest respect for nature and the environment, emphasizing biological and plant diversity. As a good Artisan winemaker, I run my estate as an "Independent Winemaker", cultivating my own vines in organic viticulture and harvesting my own grapes, which will be crushed and vinified by my care and choices, to finally create my own cuvées according to my taste and preferences. This involves taking risks and orientations that induce a specificity of the house and unique cuvées…. Chemistry has no place in the estate, zero chemical weed killers for 20 years, mechanical work of the plots replaces harmful chemicals for the earth and soil life, aerial treatments are limited to sulfur and copper, which makes harvests unpredictable and weakens the economy, but also strengthens the natural defenses of the vine! The grapes are purer and more concentrated. The wines undergo the same chemical weaning process, very few inputs in the winery, and very little SO2, alternative techniques to the use of sulfur allow the vinifications to be completed and bottled with minimal doses of sulfites (29 mg/l). The wines are then as close to nature as possible thanks to this philosophy of "no added SO2".

Tasting experience

The three grape varieties are represented on the estate, Pinot Meunier is the predominant grape variety in the Champagne region of the "Massif de St Thierry", it produces small clusters very concentrated with gourmet aromas of yellow and exotic fruits, its wines are fresh and very aromatic, benefiting from the clay-limestone and sedimentary terroir of the village of Pouillon. Their maturity is early and their bottling is quite rapid if their harvest arrives at the right timing of their growth. Pinot Noir is the second black grape variety of our estate, it produces more opulent clusters and the aromas are more characteristic of red fruits, with a volume and structure well characteristic, the wines from this grape variety will be denser, heavier, giving a more carrying sensation in the mouth. Their maturity is slower, and this grape variety is generally the last clusters to be cut and crushed from our harvests. Chardonnay is the only white grape variety, it produces generous golden clusters with aromas of white flowers and peach, menthol in cool years, the wines from this grape variety are fine and airy, mixing liveliness and subtlety, they take time to settle in the bottle, and require years in the calm, in the cellar on slats in contact with their yeasts to express all their potential and let their aggressiveness melt away! It is a grape variety that enters our most noble cuvées.

Cuvée E

Cuvée E

The most accomplished cuvée of our creations, very "feminine" complex and balanced with the freshness of chardonnay combined with the support of noirs. The three Champagne grape varieties are fully expressed Meuniers 2017 (10%) pinot noirs 2017 (36%) chardonnays 2017 (54%). The bottles are left to mature for 6 years before disgorgement, allowing the chardonnays to ripen. The bubble is fine, the aromas are more oriented towards yellow peach, citrus, and white flowers, with a beautiful persistent and endless finish, reminiscent of the aromas after swallowing. A champagne of great nobility housed in a white bottle to reveal its beautiful color. Extra-brut dosage (less than 3 g/l.).
