Champagne METEYER Père & Fils
Rue de l'Europe 39, 02850 Trélou-sur-Marne, France
House history
Champagne Météyer presents itself as a family house rooted in the Vallée de la Marne, with know-how passed down over several generations. The estate says it has been producing champagne since 1860 in keeping with tradition. Franck Météyer is described as the fifth generation of the family, attached to his terroir and embodying the house’s savoir-faire for 25 years, while Anna Météyer focuses on development and export. The house also highlights recognition in 2017 with the “Prix Pierre Cheval de l’Embellissement” from the Mission Unesco and its HVE environmental certification.
Tasting experience
The estate offers wine tourism experiences by reservation, including visits at 10:30 or 14:30. Visitors can discover the vineyard through a guided tour and an interactive mobile-app experience with geolocated points of interest and videos. The program includes reception at the property, presentation of the house, a guided and commented museum visit, and sometimes an art exhibition. The house also offers an “Évidence” visit combining museum, video, cellar and exhibition, thematic masterclasses, tastings of cuvées signed by Franck Météyer, food and champagne pairings, and vineyard discovery subject to weather and soil conditions.
