Champagne house
Champagne LEQUIEN & FILS
Rue d'Ilbesheim 1, 51530 Chavot-Courcourt, France
House history
The house follows in the footsteps of its founder Max. Originally, Max, a shepherd who arrived in Champagne with his wife to work as a roadman, fell in love with the region and the Champagne wine. He then learned the trade of winemaker and gradually acquired his own vines, developing the vineyard over the years. In 1995, his son Philippe took over the business and began marketing his own bottles, in tribute to his father with the house's emblematic "sheep." He developed the family business with his wife Géraldine, who manages the clientele, while their daughter Charlotte now participates in the daily work, interacting with clients and on social media.
Tasting experience
The house offers tastings combined with complete tours. Three cuvées are tasted in the Bergerie. The tour includes the vat room, traditional and automatic presses, as well as the disgorging line, to showcase the Champagne method process from A to Z. The house also remains open to the public during the harvest. Hospitality and friendliness are highlighted as central elements of the customer experience.
