House history

Champagne Klepka-Sausse was founded in the 1920s in Oger and has been passed down through four generations. The family history begins with Fernand and Jeanne, winemakers who purchased the family's first vines. In November 1946, in an unstable economic context, the cooperative "Les Grappes d'Or" was born, in which Raymond, then Andrée and Jean-Claude, became involved. Laurent Klepka joined the family estate in 1993 after training at the Champagne wine school and a six-month internship in the United States. With his wife Catherine, he gradually took over the family business, cultivated the inherited Grand Cru vines, and then represented the estate at the cooperative, of which he became president. Since the 1990s, the estate has implemented sustainable viticulture. In 2019, the estate obtained the "High Environmental Value" and "Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne" certifications.
