Rue Louis Desprez 8, 10200 Rouvres-les-Vignes, France

House history

Joël Falmet is presented as the creator of his champagnes and founder of his own brand. He is a grower-producer (vigneron-récoltant-manipulant) based in Rouvres-les-Vignes, between Bar-sur-Aube and Colombey-les-deux-Églises, near Clairvaux Abbey. The estate emphasizes respect for family traditions while also pursuing more personal wines. The site also states that Joël Falmet is a member of the Fédération nationale Terra Vitis and tends eight hectares of vines under a demanding charter checked annually.

Tasting experience

Visits are available by appointment. The estate describes vineyard work adapted to each plot, with Pinot noir, Chardonnay, Pinot meunier and Petit meslier planted. It highlights mechanical weeding, grass cover between rows and on headlands, and reasoned disease control. Grapes from each plot are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, pressed separately in traditional low-pressure presses to preserve each micro-terroir, then vinified in barrels in the Joël Falmet cellar. The site says this barrel vinification enhances each grape variety and parcel, while micro-oxygenation encourages new sensory expression.
