House history
The house boasts a family expertise spanning 5 generations. Its history dates back to the early 20th century, when Emile and Aline Dutarque managed a family vineyard in Hautvillers. In 1911, amidst the Champagne winemakers' revolt, Pierre Bosser, a sergeant from Brittany, arrived in Champagne with his regiment and met Suzanne Dutarque. They married the same year. After Suzanne's brother died during World War I, Pierre Bosser took over the vineyard. The first bottling under the name Pierre Bosser-Dutarque dates back to 1933, with around 800 bottles. Today, Christelle, the 5th generation, says she is taking over to develop the brand's image while maintaining the spirit of a family business passed down from generation to generation.
Tasting experience
The house offers cellar tours and tastings by online reservation. If no date is suitable, it is possible to contact them via the form or by email. Champagnes can be shipped within France and abroad, but the estate also invites visitors to come and discover on-site their craft, passion, and champagnes. The reception takes place in the tasting area located at 109 rue de Bacchus in Hautvillers. In fine weather, the landscaped inner courtyard is presented as a place for relaxation and tasting, with the possibility of accompanying the champagnes with a platter of cold cuts and cheeses. A collection of old tools can also be visited freely. The cellar tour allows visitors to discover the champagne-making process. The site specifies that it is preferable to check in advance that the house is open on the day of the visit.
