Champagne Jean COMYN

Rue Fontaine Sainte-Foy 7 Bis, 02400 Mont-Saint-Père, France

House history

The house traces its origins with Mr. Maurice Brugnon, a winemaker at the beginning of the century in Ecueil, who passed his estate to his son. His son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jean Comyn, settled in Mont-Saint-Père at the end of the 60s. Mr. Comyn worked to restore overgrown hillsides, planted then abandoned after phylloxera and forgotten during the difficulties of the early century. The first plantations on the Mont-Saint-Père terroir date from 1970, the first harvests arrived three years later, then the construction of the presses was undertaken. Since 1997, the 3rd generation is in place with their son, Emmanuel Comyn.

Tasting experience

The Comyn family has been producing a wide range of Champagne for over 40 years in Mont-Saint-Père, at the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. The richness of the blends is presented as the key to the estate, with the expression of the Champagne terroir through a range of champagnes. The site highlights the generosity of Pinot Noir, the suppleness of Pinot Meunier, and the finesse of Chardonnay. It also indicates that 6 cuvées, available in different formats, are offered. Visits and tastings are by appointment, with a request to notify 48 hours in advance, and the house is open every day by appointment.
