House history

The house is located in Louvois, a village whose vineyard is classified as 100% Grand Cru. The family has been cultivating 9.5 hectares here, maintained by the family for over 7 generations. The first two generations were winemakers, then from the third generation, the family began producing under the name Lucien Beaufort. The know-how has been passed down from generation to generation. Today, Marie Odile de Chassey and her daughter Ingrid continue this family story. The site also connects the identity of the place to the Château de Louvois, opposite the home of Champagne Guy de Chassey, an old building of which only a few parts remain.

Tasting experience

The site presents several tasting notes of cuvées. One cuvée shows a white mousse on an amber robe, with white flowers, spices, citrus fruits, and white fruits in syrup; on the palate, the balance combines the power of Pinot Noir and the finesse of Chardonnay. Another, from old vines and aged in oak barrels, offers a light gold robe, a woody nose with a background of red fruits and fruit pastes, then a fleshy attack with fine bubbles, freshness, and length. The rosé presents a beautiful pink robe and aromas of red fruits. Other cuvées are described with notes of candied yellow fruits, suave flowers, spices, summer fruit marmalade, or a mineral expression on chalk and flint, with linden, black pepper, mirabelle, and almond. The Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut highlights Pinot Noir, with ripe white fruits, candied citrus, tension, and a mineral finish.
