House history
The House of Champagne Philippe FOURRIER is located in the heart of the Côte des Bar. The site indicates that it was founded in 1847 and passed down through five generations, combining respect for traditions and expertise. Philippe FOURRIER, from a long line of winemakers, started in the vineyards in the 1950s and completed his first harvest in 1979. Today, the next generation is gradually taking over, with his son Julien as the cellar master and head of production. The house also highlights its environmental commitment, notably sustainable viticulture and the High Environmental Value (H.V.E.) certification, as well as cultural practices such as spreading bark and compost, inter-row grassing, and soil work.
Tasting experience
The site presents several tasting profiles for its champagnes. Among the descriptions noted: "ample and generous" with notes of white fruits, pastries, honey, and candied fruits, with a slightly spicy finish; a fresh cuvée with notes of citrus, buttery nuts, and gingerbread; a wine "round and straight, fruity and gourmet" on yellow fruits with a hint of anise; a "fresh and crunchy" style with aromas of pineapple and white-fleshed fruits; a cuvée with "beautiful liveliness" carried by notes of red fruits and white flowers; a champagne "ample and slightly creamy" with aromas of citrus, white-fleshed fruits, and a biscuity note; a "rich and opulent" profile on pastries, honey, exotic fruits, and dried fruits; finally, a style marked by "finesse & elegance," with aromas of candied white fruits, lemon, white flower, and a soft minerality.
