House history
Champagne Dom Caudron finds its origins in Passy-Grigny, in the Marne Valley, around Abbé Aimé Caudron, a prominent figure in local viticulture. In 1929, when winegrowers were mostly selling their grapes without being able to add value to them, he proposed that they unite to create a cooperative under the idea "Let's combine our know-how!". Twenty-three winegrowers then pooled their resources to acquire a production site, tools, and pressing equipment. Their work focuses on the Meunier, the house's preferred grape variety, which would give birth to a range of champagnes with varied expressions. The vineyard, initially 12 hectares, now exceeds 130 hectares on the slopes of the Marne Valley. More than 60 winegrowers have since joined this cooperative movement initiated in 1929.
