Champagne Delaunois Chanez

Rue Roger Salengro 17, 51500 Rilly-la-Montagne, France

House history

The house is located in Rilly-la-Montagne, a Premier Cru classified wine village between Reims and Épernay. At the heart of the Montagne de Reims, the estate spans 3.80 hectares of vineyards. The operation is family-run and has been passed down for five generations, with continuity indicated since the 1920s. The house cultivates the three emblematic grape varieties of Champagne — pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay — and emphasizes respectful farming practices, notably the absence of insecticides, grassing of vineyard paths, and soil work.

Tasting experience

The house offers visits and tastings by appointment. Visitors can participate in guided tours of the vineyards to discover the cultivated grape varieties — pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay — as well as environmentally friendly farming practices. The tour continues in the cellars to present the stages of cuvée production, from harvest to bottling. It can end with a commented tasting of several cuvées. The site also mentions thematic workshops, receptions and events, as well as a tasting formula of 3 cuvées without a visit.
