Champagne Benoit Michel

House history
The Michel family began working their first vines in 1847 in the heart of the Champagne wine region. The production of champagne bottles then began at the start of the 20th century. Benoit represents the 5th generation of the Michel family, passing down their winemaking expertise from generation to generation, from working the land to vinification. He still operates the "Les Chardeloups" plot acquired by his great-grandfather at the beginning of the 20th century. His father, Guy Michel, focused on aging bottles in the cellar and on a long time on lees starting in 1959. Benoit, trained by collaborating with his father, was entrusted with the vinifications of Maison Guy Michel from 2004. In 2022, the purchase of a vineyard in Monthelon marked the beginning of a new family project with Patricia, Loris, and Alexandre: together they founded the champagne Benoit Michel.
