The Domaine André Robert is presented as a family business, with the Robert family working the vineyards in Champagne for several generations. After World War II, André Robert, born in 1925, worked the vineyard with a horse. In 1960, he purchased the estate house, described as having wonderful 19th-century chalk cellars.
